School of Navigation and Seamanship

For the first time in the Pacific Islands, YWAM is running a School of Seamanship and Navigation! The course is being run in Fiji by our ministry partner Yachts For Life and the compendium is based on the internationally recognized RYA Yachtmaster Scheme. During the 3 month school, the students will become compentent skippers and able to take out yachts up to 24 meters. There are 9 students in the course. 4 from Fiji, 4 from the west and 1 from the Solomon Islands. Equipping Solomon Islanders to be competent skippers is part of our goal for the sailing vision, and we hope to be able to run more schools and send more people over from the Solomon Islands to be trained.
